Last year, while waiting for a bus at New York City's fabulous Port Authority bus terminal at 2:30 AM, I tried to slide what I thought was an open platform door but it was locked. It took a few blood splotches landing on my bus schedule for me to look at my right palm and see a razor thin three inch scar that I must have gotten from the metal edge of the sliding door. Thank God they had some hand soap left in the bathroom as my only other alternative was a stray can of scowering cleanser left behind by a janitor. It was days before any evidence of that fucking slice vanished from my right palm. Hurt like a sonovabitch the whole ride back to Boston.
