I can't believe I didn't here about this sooner.

Cast

Keanu Reeves as Klaatu.[1]
Jennifer Connelly as Helen Benson.[2]
Kathy Bates is in negotiations for a role.[2]
Jon Hamm as Dr. Granier, a NASA official who recruits Helen into a scientific team investigating Klaatu.[3]
Jaden Smith as Jacob, Helen's rebellious eight-year old stepson.[4]

Production

Scott Derrickson will direct a screenplay written by Ryne Douglas Pearson and David Scarpa. Filming began in Vancouver on December 12, 2007.[5] Tyler Bates was hired to compose the score in January 2008.[6]
The film was originally scheduled for release on May 9, 2008, but was delayed because filming commenced later than scheduled. It is due for release on December 12, 2008.[7]
