I think I learned in about 5th grade that oil and potable water ARE NOT in infinite supply. Most of my life has been spent in the southwestern US, and for decades, AZ and CA and NV have been talking about potential water shortages. Since at least the 70's we have known how an oil crisis can raise prices and cause shortages.

So for about fifty years now, full knowing what can happen when we don't have enough water and/or oil, Americans just kept developing and developing with not a single concern for our natural resources. It's sort of like the national debt that all of us have created, where we just spend spend spend, and will pass the problems on to our kids and grand kids--great plan!!

People don't seem to have a clue, nor the interest, to understand the full impact as the oil and water supplies dry up. And the major hurt won't wait until they are dry--it has already started and will get worse every month. In my area gasoline for 87 octane is already $3.45/gal and they are predicting it will easily top $4/gal by June. This is not a lot of money, but it's enough to keep ratcheting up the hurt...
