Schizophrenia is like the opposite of what I have. For me, I stick to a subject for an extremely short period of time. The schizophrenic sticks to the same subject for an extremely long period of time.

For the normal person, you might get a song in your head for a few hours or a day. For me, it could be a few seconds. For a schizophrenic, it could be a month.

It is conceivable some schizophrenics could function without medication. There may be some job where the slow rate-of-change is helpful. Mostly, functioning in our society would rely on teaching the schizophrenic correctly.
