Can't afford therapy?

Watch In Treatment on HBO.
Gabriel Byrne is the shrink and a variety of patients from a teen gymnast who might have attempted suicide to a married couple whose marriage is floundering. Blair Underwood as a pilot who has no feelings about dropping bombs on innocent Iraqis and a 30 year old anesthesiologist who thinks she's in love with him.
At first I thought it would bore me but I was fascinated by the dialog and the insights into the reason for these peoples' actions.
It sounds like it was copied from actual sessions.
Byrne's life is messier than his patients. His wife is openly screwing some other guy and says he's not available due to his patients.
I'm not kidding it's made me understand a bunch of things in my own life.
The gymnast's problems come from her coach's rejection of her sexual advances and the pilot's problems stem from his hated yet respected father.
The couple are just a mess.
Diane Weist is Byrne's consultant and shrink.
Really excellent TV. And it's just 30 minutes. Try it. You'll be glad you did.
