Got sick of dumping gas money into my 2500 Chevy HD, with my new job (print industry).
I was hoping to keep it for side jobs and such, but that hasn't materialized. The
Vue is less gas, less money, less insurance, and I might turn it over in less then a year any way.
I just needed to walk onto a lot and get another vehicle . They were quick concise and no pressure.
The Vue isn't a bad vehicle and my truck was getting old (2005).
I kind of knew what I was in the market for, something with a hatchback for small side jobs for my hand tools and a saw or two, and not too small. Just incase something small comes up that I can make a few extra dollars at.
They came in at the financing I wanted. So I bought it.
I probably should have walked onto a few other lots, might have saved me $20 a month, but fuck it. When you go from a 2500 series pick up to one of these crossovers, there really isn't any single one that's going to stand out better then the others. They're all going to seem the same, small, less tough, with no balls.
They couldn't really believe how nonchalant I was about buying a new vehicle. But it's just transportation. I bought this last truck over the phone. I knew exactly what I wanted and I had a guy on the "inside" at the Chevy dealership. I really didn't want to spend more then a single morning scouring the area for what is essentially the same genre of vehicle with a different brand name slapped on it. Honda, Kia, Toyota.........what ever, it aint a truck and that makes it the same to me. My free time is worth more then some minuscule savings or supposedly better "value".
Until it's a Ferrari, or something fabulous, it's just transportation within my budget and some quick research. Plus the dealership is right around the corner from my house. I think it's silver, I forget which color was available in the options that fit my budgetary demands. .
