I do appreciate a lot of his music but a genius he was/is not.
Seems every time I read one of your posts you manage to top the last for a negative opinion to knowledge ration. Woody was a part of all our musical pasts, he was however a three chord man and unashamed of that fact. His lyrics and his spirit are what made him legendary. Jack Elliot, a remarkable guitar player/stylist (I learned much of my early playing from him) is not a writer, although he did pen a few good tunes. To make "whip his ass" statements is purely juvenile. You would be hard pressed to find someone in music who does not hold Dylan as one of the major forces of the 20th and
21st century in the field. His catalog alone, compared to Woody and Jack is beyond compare. To say "same song," means one of two things, you have absolutely no ear or you have listenend to a very limited amount of his music. "Blowin' in the Wind," is hardly the same musical content as "Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands." Think a bit before your next post.
