I've been working a little more on this.
The brain has a certain amount of 'resources'. What you can do is spread out these resources among many different parts of the brain, or you can focus them on a single part. When you focus all of your resources on a single thing, you can achieve the highest gains and losses.
The 'ADD' person uses their 'resources' in a multi-focus fashion. They might be apportioning between 4 different parts of the brain, only slightly more focused on 1 part than the other three.
If you do use multi-focusing, you can make yourself less 'sensitive'. In other words, you will not feel emotional pain or pleasure as much when you split your focus between 4 things. The inverse is also true, when you focus completely on one thing, you will feel greater degrees of pleasure and pain.
