Noob is right though... higher prices will bring in more supplies. Not forever, but declined consumption, thanks to very high prices, will stretch those for a long while. So i don't see Exxon's profits declining any time soon. That said, they will be missing out on the next big thing... But they are betting it won't hurt them too much. Future will tell if they are correct.
