Chris Matthews meant well, but MSNBC is MSM -- and once again
Jeremiah Wright tapes were played.

Why is the MSM not covering Hillary Clinton's longtime membership
in The Family, a D.C. group prayer group to which Rick Santorum
and Sam Brownback belonged?

From Talk to Action by Bruce Wilson, March 21, 2008,
Audiotapes Raise Questons on Hillary Clinton's Right-Wing Cult Assocation:

That is the real significance of Hillary Clinton's association with Doug Coe and "The Family", an organization with deep fascist and anti-Communist roots explored in Jeff Sharlet's upcoming book "The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at The Heart Of American Power" :

Demonization of Clinton, from the right, has masked the fact that in supporting "Faith-Based" programs and their legal basis Hillary Clinton's agenda has coincided with a central long range goal of the American religious right, of demolishing New Deal and Great Society social programs and redirecting a fraction of that money to religious organizations providing social services. Journalists Jeff Sharlet and Kathryn Joyce, in the September 2007 article, in Mother Jones, Hillary's Prayer, closely examined Hillary Clinton's religious beliefs and, with admirable nuance, concluded that Clinton's beliefs are genuine but skew rightward and away from the Social Gospel ethos many of her supporters may hold.

The Family is an anti-democratic and elistist, sex-segregated fundamentalist power cult and influence-peddling ring with ties to brutal dictatorships. Hillary Clinton is not responsible for every last statement to issue from the mouth of Doug Coe but she most certainly is responsible for her association with The Family.

Ideas have consequences.
