It'll get cheap very fast. Genetic sequencers are dropping in price dramatically, and to transfer, you just take a retrovirus (like HIV, but with bad bits removed, of course
) insert the desired gene into it. Then infect yourself, and as the virus spreads through your body, it will copy itself into your DNA. Bingo! Currently, it's easier said than done, but i'm sure the tech will come around quicker than most people realize...
