As much as I don't like Hillary, I have to agree with you here.
I remember there was a lot of relief when Bill left office with his pardons, Monica, his many white lies. GWB had a clean slate, and part of his selling point was to "bring dignity back to the White House". Not many really considered him to be a stupid, arrogant cowboy. Then it became the presidency in action.
Problem with Hillary, is that lying is part of her fabric. Lying is what she does, even if it hurts her. She has always lied, pandered, embellished, exaggerated and she undoubtedly always will.
It may not even exclude her from being an effective president. It didn't hurt Bill too much. You just won't see any federal buildings, naval vessels or airports named after him.
It's just something her supporters and most New Yorkers seem to be OK with and would be a source of constant irritation to her detractors.
