Keeping digital pics chronological

After some experimenting, I've learned how to keep all my digital photos in chronological order.

First, do not delete photos you don't like in the camera, as that space will be filled by another photo you take.

Let's say, while you're on a trip, you sit in your room in the evening and review your photos. You don't like 4 of them, so you delete them. The next 4 photos you take will be in those spots.

Loading them into the computer.

I like to do slide shows of the entire year's activities.

My first upload from the camera goes into fial "A". Once uploaded I do all my editing and deleting, etc. Then I copy or move all photos to file "2008"

Next time I upload, it is to file "b". then when I move those edited photos to "2008" they remain chronological.
