That'll require a meteorite hit in Mecca and a second in Medina. Tougher shots to place a bet on.

Asteroids and Meteorites have collided with the Earth since the beginning of Time. Got nothing to do with God. That's just the way it is.

Precisely my point. If one were to vaporize portions of Jerusalem that would prove there is no divine protestion on any piece of real estate or chosen people.

Plus...the collisions have ultimately brought Life to this Earth, via Water and Ice. Existance/Life on this Planet is precarious at best, and can end at any moment.

Yes, yes, I'm aware of that. According to one astronomer and his computer models we didn't get as much water as we could've.

This God-belief has lulled most everyone into a false security, as if someone is in control over something, when in reality, noone is.
The last time an Asteroid hit this Planet (slammed into the Indian Ocean) was about 4800 years ago, and caused the great Flood (mentioned in the Bible) It killed about 50% of Humanity. ( Saw this on The History Channel about a Week ago Saturday) The event had nothing to do with God, it just happened. And it will happen again.

I missed that one. What did the show say about fallout blotting out the sunlight and where human populations were concentrated around the world at that time?
I'm still more inclined to believe the flood myth dates back to the end of the ice age and rising waters flooding coastal populations.

I guess it is comforting and important for some, to believe in God and that he has Power and Control over everything.

My point is if a hit occurs in Jerusalem it'd force people to realize that their religion doesn't render them immune to the usual and more apt "shit happens" universe of events.
