My fiction does borrow from historical events, so I'm sure there's a limited basis of truth on which the bible's based. Sure Jesus didn't raise people from the dead or ressurect himself after dying, but those wouldn't be the most important aspects of his life. What makes him important is that he introduces nonviolence into western theology, possibly bringing from the east.
