I'm extremely scientific on the subject. Every ancient society ate meat, fish or some other animal for protein. In some cases it was as low as five to ten percent and others as high as 90 to virtually 100 percent.
Burning the village doesn't save it. It's possible to economically raise livestock without diverting arible land to feed them. The reason I know this is because that was the normal practice up until a couple hundred years ago. Even pigs were never fed crops humans could eat unless those crops had gone bad.

It's obvious you're biased. All we need from meat is protein, is this incorrect?

Not just protein, but specific amino acids that either exist in miniscule quantities in plant foods or don't exist in them at all.

Maybe we ate meat for 7 million years, but we also ate other stuff. Before 7 million years, we ate other stuff.
|
True. But there have been whole societies which ate nothing but meat. I'm not recommending that for industrial societies,
because we don't have the physical activity level to justify anything above 25% meat, however the biological science doesn't lie.

We are fully capable of surviving without eating meat.

Not for the majority of our lives. You can go without it for a few years without appreciable health effects, but beyond a decade and you'll notice. Also, if you're forced to be vegetarian while growing up you
will be malnurished and may have some developmental problems including mental development if it's severe enough.

Why keep consuming it when the only remaining function is pleasure?

It isn't the only function and I've already proven that too many times to waste anymore re-explaining it.

What valid arguments can you provide in favor of eating animals? Don't give me silly biased answers, i'm no 'veggiac'. Been almost a pure carnivore my whole life and I only eat 2 types of vegetables and 0 fruits. Pro-meat people don't have any arguments. They only want to eat it 'cause it's fucking delicious.

I've done this already. Were the old Bill Maher boards up you could look up thread after thread where I thoroughly debunked EVERY myth about vegetarianism from one end of the forums to the other. And other posters who likewise bothered to know the many related sciences jumped in as well.
Not once have the veggiacs managed to prove otherwise, and most often had to duck the many facts I posted or linked because they knew there were wrong.
