The thing is, Lamont Whats-his-face did not necessarily misrepresent the law on this. We will all have to wait for a follow up to this story. He may actually be working to make it easier to get people to register to vote by sending the necessary forms to fill out and return to the proper authorities. Nothing in either this story or the transcript gives any indication of motive one way or the other.
