tonight at work as i was watching yet another rehash by wolf blitzer and the analysts on the "new controversy" involving reverend wright, i realised i was growing more and more incensed over this, for lack of a better word at the moment, nonsense...i fired off a quick "send us your comments" email that read as follows:

Are you kidding with this "news coverage" of Barack Obama and his "outrage"? Why does the media insist on shoving the real issues like the economy, Iraq, Iran, gas prices, universal health insurance (not the same as universal healthcare) and the current food shortage and rationing happening on the East Coast under the table in favour of sensationalistic news pieces that really have absolutely no bearing on how well a candidate would do in office? Is the money really that good that the integrity of journalism itself is the one that gets thrown under the bus on a day to day basis? I find it hard to believe that this "issue" is of such relevance that it has to be dissected 24/7 on every news show when this country faces real and serious crisis. Don't you guys ever get sick and tired of reporting fluff? and if you don't, and if the Good Reverend Wright is such an important topic, one that is going to make or break this country economically etc. then why aren't you reporting how he was a personal mentor and counselor to both Bill and Hillary Clinton during their marriage crisis and the Monica Lewinsky scandal? or would that be too much truth for the American people to bear? and you guys call yourselves journalists!

yes, when i have to i use capital letters...and yes, i know it was in vain, but it sure felt good getting it off my chest, though the canned email response didn't really help...i intend to send those comments every day i hear them doing the reverend wright shuffle while millions of americans continue to suffer in this economic "slow down"...
