I rescued a sphinx hummer moth from Menard's yesterday. He wanted to get on the petunias but couldn't because it was so cold in the shade, so I assisted him. He had beautiful shades of pink beneath his wings.

All we have is the Rubies here. The pics show a male and a female. I like the middle picture, where she's looking up at him. Truthfully, these pics don't depict half of what was going on yesterday.
I didn't post them because the brown background doesn't show them well, but just before the posted pics were taken, there were two males beating the crap out of each other, on/around the feeder. The female slipped in quickly, and I didn't realize it was her until I posted these pics.
It is rare for me to see two on the feeder at the same time, but they're courting now. Also...I bought new feeders this year, with many ports for them to feed from, so maybe they'll learn to share
edit...now that I look again, the top pic is two males challenging each other.....
