We can't escape corn ethanol here in my state, so we've learned a lot about it...many consumers would rather use the more expensive unleaded regular, because ethanol screws up a vehicle's carburetor.
We may not have been subsisting on corn as corn..but we have corn syrup in everything! Other countries use palm, coconut or plain cane sugar, such as in the UK where they use golden syrup.
