Those "powerboost" are good for just for downloading. COX offered it and told me it would help reduce lag in gaming...bullshit.
You might want to take a look at the bottom right tool bar (next to the time) and see how many programs load everytime you turn the PC on....these things are running in the background and causing the PC to become slow...they totally screwed up my DOOM3 on line gaming. I finally removed most of them after getting tired of right clicking and closing them when I gamed...
