I don't have, will not have and have refused to have flourescent lighting because I've never believed they were healthy.
They were primarily used for offices and like commercial structures until they brought them into homes. Even then, they weren't the primary lighting. Now someone wants to make them the mainstay of our lighting choice. I find this unacceptable.
Granted I just learned they had more mercury than I thought originally, it's just one more reason not to use them.
Normally I wouldn't give a shit except incandescents are dissappearing off of the shelves (and not by consumers but by the merchants themselves), and I'm left with no real choice. Believing that saving the atmosphere at the cost of our ground water is insane. It's no real solution.
Give me to choice to choose between energy saving lighting and proper lighting. Let me decide how I want to save energy. Lighting isn't even that big an energy consumer compared to other systems in the house (mechanical, entertainment, etc)
