Nor am I, but cops are human. and humans act in a mob mentality, even if that mob is all police. There are factors that people should take into account, not as an excuse but an explaination. One, high speed chases elevate adrenalin levels. It can't be avoided. A solution? Don't have the cops with elevated adrenalin levels actually takwe the suspects into custody. Easier said, I know, but calmer heads might not have beat them into the hospital.
Secondly, there was a Philly cop killed three days before this in a armed robbery attempt. They were pursuing shooting suspects, think that played into adrenalin levels and over reaction?
Again, there are many fine officers, just as there are many bad cops. It's funny but the only officer showing any restraint is the K9 cop.
