Don't take this the wrong way.......

If I take this as fact that the lady in question doesn't have low self-esteem from childhood abuses, sending her into abusive relationships as a valience shift, and that she's a clinically 'normal' person then I must then question YOUR history.

This person might be having a brain-fart type slip-o-th'-tongue, and meant that she was numerically lucky not to have been with an abusive significant other (comparative to the number of abusive relationships). That's how I would've interpreted it.
You interpreted it as saying SHE was lucky to have managed to 'score' a non-abusive partner. This leads me to wonder about what abuses childhood brought you, either personally or witnessed.

That'll be $2.50 couch session fee.
