Why is Obama winning Oregon 55% to 33%, but lost WV by a landslide? Is it all about economics in WV or tree huggers living in Oregon?
I don't buy it. Why did Obama win a large segment of the white vote in Western states but lose them in the Appalachian states?
Does inherent racism still exist and always will exist in the Appalachian region?

as the article at
hillary clinton - the "Deliverance" candidate! points out, these people are historically so racist they were beyond "anti-slavery" - they were anti-SLAVE! in other words, blacks aren't real humans.
this is the land of robert byrd, who in 1945 said "Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds."
robert came around - but obviously, much of appalachia is mired in their old traditions.
this is a land where "folks" sit on their tar paper porches in the mountains - cut the head off a chicken and stand it in the road - and spend the evening watching the reactions of horrified drivers for yuks and giggles.
i know, i've SEEN it personally!
