This is the ugly reality. And it's likely to get worse before it gets better. There's going to be a fair sized section of the American populace who are going to become more and more frightened and angry as his ascendancy to the presidency becomes more likely.
I'm sure that Obama and his people have already accepted this as fact. And we won't know how far they'll go, until it happens.
Maybe it's even a good thing. If we want this candidate to succeed, we're not going to just be to cast a vote. Some uncomfortable realities about America are going to have to be fully confronted and overcome.
The reality of a Democratic president makes an awful lot of people fight like their backs are against the wall. A black president is going to be more than they can bear. There will be ugliness.
