Are you for or against. Why or why not.
I'm actually for a hybrid privatization of some kind. If your young enough to benefit from putting your SS money in some kind of investment vehicle that would earn at least 6 or 7 percent over the next 30 - 40 years then why not. It is far better then the 2 percent or less return on your money from SS.
The CATO institute says:

To fix the Social Security System we either raise taxes, cut benefits, or privately invest.
I lost my sister in 2006 who at 48 years old had paid into the SS system since her first job when she was 19. Her 20 year old son was no longer a dependant. Where did all that money go?
This is Social Security's biggest problem: workers have no ownership of or control over their money.
