Here's the reality. It doesn't matter how passionate is this new coalition of youth voters. The Baby Boom generation is larger.
What defined block of voters is larger than the Baby Boom girls grown up? They will be dismissed as raging hippy feminists (please tell me it's a typo and not a jab) at a candidate's peril, I can promise you that.
Lotta those Baby Boomer men are established. Kids are gone off to college, they're cool. They can retire sooner than later if need or pleasure be. They are not prepared to be taxed at 50%, I can promise you that too. They won't stand for it. Like me, they'll leave.

In the same way that racism will influence votes, so will wallet. They can't say it often enough on CNN that the economy is Issue Number One. Talking hope and change is one thing...it's free, for starters. When it comes to how all that hope and change is going to affect the individual's bottom line, well, there's how a person says they'll vote and there's how a person actually votes.
The dollar is almighty in America. Barack Obama cannot execute his agenda without tax hikes, and it won't be only on CEO's. It has to be considered that at least some of the undecideds will balk and that some of the supporters will bail. NO ONE is in the mood to pay higher taxes.
