I am not "pure" nor do I claim to be. I do not, however, possess the
state of mind to ad lib a joke about the possible assassination of
anyone, certainly not a presidential candidate, particularly given the
history of assassination in this country.
Yet a self described Christian, an ordained minister no less,
does have such a state of mind. Apologies are well and good, and
certainly owed in this case, but the source is still worthy of
examination. This possibility was on his mind, aimed specifically
at a Black presidential candidate, and he presented this strange
bit of thought process as humor.
And again, this was not from some jackass comic playing a backwater
nightclub, seeking to shock the drunks out of their stupor.
He is an ordained minister of a Christian church. How could such a
formulation even be in his mind? "Imperfection" does not do justice
to such a process. Should his mind not be on his "walk with Christ"
and rather than humor found in assassinating a presidential candidate?

Legally, in this country, we apply the Constitution as our standard,
not the Bible, since we are a secular republic, not a theocracy.
God, Jesus and the Bible are the law for
you, but not for the
rest of us. The U.S. is not a Christian version of Iran.

No doubt, but fortunately for "adulterers" and even you, although you
do not realize it, we have not "codified Bible principles" and will not
if we are to stay the United States.
The Bible is fine as a personal guidebook, should you feel the need
for one, but it is the Constitution which protects your choice of guide-
book and without that protection, with a theocracy as the basis of
our government, you run the risk of living under someone else's
interpretation of the Bible, an interpretation that may decide you
need to be in prison.
