For those who study anthropological culture and history and civics and economics and environmental science, etc., watching China evolve must be a wonderful experience.

Although sometimes it will appear they are coming apart at the seams, hopefully those in control, as well as the general public, have more information today, more history and models to emulate or avoid, and I believe their chances for success and efficiency are pretty good.

I suspect from an outsiders point of view, for those watching the US during the Civil War, or during WWII, or during Vietnam, or in the moment of racial up-evil in the 60's and 70's, probably thought the US was unraveling as well with destinies unknown.

Just think about China and their 1.3 billion population and the toll this will take on Earth. While the US has a 550,000-person military, China can easily have a 5 million-person military. No one knows for sure but China might have 2000 to 3000 nuclear weapons and they have full launch capabilities. Their economy is probably going exponential and who knows where this might lead and what it's impacts might be on the world's nations; in the beginning they are great consumers but as time rolls on and inflation in China is working and all Chinese products escalate in price, this hurts world consumers--who knows? If they evolve based on CO2 emission technology for business and transportation, it won't be long before they consume most of the world's oil products and negatively contribute to global climate issues. And of course who would ever want the challenge of trying to provide a government to 1.3 billion people; look at all the critical issues we have in the US and we only have 1/4th of their population.

It should be very interesting to watch and the USA had better make sure it is a very very close ally...
