This is one of the things that I had forgotten I disliked so much about Florida: Air Conditioning.
I don't dress for hot weather. I could give a damn if it is 70 or 90 degrees outside. I dress for air conditioning. Sweaters are always optional and long sleeves can be rolled up.
Here are some problems from my building:
1. It's old--air conditioning is uneven. Varying tempatures can be found through out; we have three distinct temperature zones.
2. Equipment. It generates plenty of heat.
It took us six months to get a 20 year old air conditioner replaced. We got it, finally! Electric bill dropped by $50.00. That was great.
Still the other problems persist. We will be moving a few walls around soon and creating more ventilation for the equipment room. That might help.
I too, in my own little world am doing my bit.
Someday though, I hope to go "where the weather suits my clothes."
