This worries me more than anything else about the November election.
Before he even received the 2004 Democratic nomination for president, John Kerry promised that there would be a fair count of votes. (This was after a letter from the president of Diebold promising
to deliver Ohio to Bush in November 2004 was leaked.) Kerry did not deliver on that promise.
Anyone who has followed the scandals in Bush's and Gonzales' Department of Justice, run by Karl Rove, knows that the mission of the DOJ has been to disenfranchise black voters. The Republican,
Bush-appointed United States Attorney in my district was forced to resign because he refused to indict a black voting advocate group just days before the 2004 election, an act that would have violated DOJ guidelines.
The HBO movie
Recount revealed that this methodical disenfranchisement tactic was at play as far back as 2000.
