SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Three sea lions were spotted swimming in river waters on Friday.
Rudy Valdez, who had been out fishing since 7 a.m. on Friday, said he saw the sea lions near the confluence of the Sacramento and American rivers.
"They're hungry. Just like us, we get hungry. They're going to eat," Valdez said.
Several people witnessed the sea lions swimming back and forth around boats in the river.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association, seals and sea lions are protected by the Marine Mammal Protection Act.
