The way I plan to use these panels, is by connecting to the power grid. The power company buys my electricity...any surplus, that is.

At $5.00/gallon for oil, this winter will cost between $5-$7000.00 just for oil. If I generate enough electricity...which I should...I will find sources of electric heat as opposed to using my oil. I'll convert from propane hot water/cooking to electric.

I expect oil to far exceed $5.00/gallon.

I'm tired of getting raped for oil and propane. The oil companies will not be offering pre buys this year.

I will insulate the house, and see about a woodstove in the basement for the future. In my shop, I use one tank of oil per winter, because I built a wood system. Otherwise, I would use 200 gallons of oil, every 3 weeks in the coldest months of the winter.

I have found a local person who I have to meet with to see about the solar deal.
