In fact, the admin was so sure the Iraqis' would embrace us, the admin mis-calculated our wounded count would be minimal. And let's NOT ever forget that Dumbyass did NOT report for duty. He was completely drunk, coked up and separated from any notion of what was going on in the VA back then. Why does the VA of today surprise anyone? I followed this and many stories similar. And many of them report "The White House" is looking into this or recommending that...

Why isn't the admin actually doing something to the VA? Because they don't give a rat's ass and they see the VA as a cost center that's messing up their profit margin...
And another key factoid to this insanity with The VA and administration... Consider the 30,000+ US wounded to date (probably higher) from this war. In the Vietnam days, its a good bet that 25% or more of today's count would have died. This is because of the advances in field medical training and improved resources to Medevac field units in today's war.

But if we take that 25% of today's wounded count, that would equate to at least 7,500 more US war deaths to our near 3,900 so far. That's well over 11,000 troop deaths - 1/4 of the entire Vietnam war. If the death toll today was 11,000 - I'm sure we'd see the protests taken to the streets - just like we did in my day. And I was one of those that served and protested.

And sadly, the reality check today is that of our huge count of disabled veterans, many will never, ever be able to live normal lives. And that does NOT even take into consideration the mentally messed up vets that do NOT have physical scars. And of all the disabled, that is a huge cost to the system - and one the administration must really feel as a thorn in their side.

I hope the adminstration does NOT view our disabled vets as a business profit loss statement. Unfortunately - the ethics displayed by the admin to date, make it look as just that - a liability that must be minimized at any cost... except getting our troops home...
