But what are the fields ?
Recent pictures of the Sun's solar flares are interpreted as magnetic fields snapping, throwing plasma into space. This is caused by the rotation twisting magnetic fields.
Are these fields also distortions of space ? I fear that the answer would require that I go back to school, but I have wondered about these fields.
