Just a little story
In ancient times, there were people called Mycenaeans. They sometimes saw flashes of lights bolt out of clouds, causing a thunderous roar. They were unable to understand this strange phenomenon. It was just too complicated for them.
So what did they do?
They created a "theory" as a means to explain what they couldn't comprehend.
Evidently, the best they could do was say a guy named Zeus hung out on the clouds and threw lightening bolts at those he was angry at.
If a modern scientist went back and tried to explain the real explanation for lightening, they still wouldn't come close to understanding it. They just didn't have enough practical knowledge of the field. They would probably reject the scientists evidence, and stick to their Zeus theory. To the uneducated Mycenaeans, their version would be much more simple and easy to believe.
In the modern age, there were people called "truthers". They saw collapses of buildings live on television. However, none of them could really understand structural engineering and had probably never even seen a building collapse before. It was just too complicated for them to comprehend.
So what did they do?
They created their own "theory" as a means to explain what they couldn't understand.
Evidently, the best they could do was say that invisible, soundless explosives were used.
When the scientists tried to explain the real explanation for the collapse, the truthers couldn't come close to fully understanding it. They just didn't have the practical knowledge of the field. Instead, they rejected the scientific evidence, and stuck to their own amateur "explosives" theory. To the uneducated "truthers", their version was much more simple and easy to believe.
Just a little bed time story you can read to the kids.
