It was necessary. Nobody would believe that suspected Arab terrorists would be given that much access to the buildings by Larry Silverstein to plant explosives to take the buildings down. Not after the 1993 WTC bombing. Plus there is a psychological aspect of terrorists using
our planes as missiles to smash them into two of
our tallest buildings in the country, and the tallest in NYC.
