As in the fact that you brought up one of the problems being as that of batteries and a stail mate when reaching the amount of energy produced vrs. what is put in to make that energy.
The problem I see is the amount of time put into batteries that have yielded slow progress in reducing the size of it vrs. energy stored as were other technological advancements such as the micro chip have progressed with much success over the amount of time in use.
Is this a funding issue are a issue between people not striving hard enough by backing programs to bring more people on board to solve and resolve those issues to improve performance by perfecting the technology ?
An any case I haven't studied this enough to make an informed decision either way but I am sure fascinated by new projects in the work's and becoming better informed abought new ways of getting of the grid so to speak and not seeing ideas pushed aside do to lack of intrist are lack of understanding.

I thought that Dr. Bussard's Google presentation very enlightening
I first knew of Dr. Bussard in SciFi with the "Ramjet" concept when I was a kid. I looked him up around the time of his Google presentation. I found his inability to "prove" or "disprove" his model "upsetting".....
