This is always the excuse, but the reality is that there is another way to defund the war. A group of just 41 Democrats in the Senate could block, by filibuster, and war funding that does NOT mandate a firm, clear timetable for withdrawal.

Right! And only Chris Dodd, national hero, bothered to come to the floor of the Senate to block the FISA bill that included retroactive telecom immunity.
I wish Dodd would challenge Harry Reid for Majority Leader!
