Well, as cool as the whole solstice thing is, the Earth can go ahead and start getting a little more direct sunlight. What a bad winter it's been so far. Seriously, if I were an Indian, or a pioneer/settler this winter would have already killed me and my horses. Why anyone ever decided to settle north of the great lakes is beyond me.
