I suppose if the Hab's owner had offered this type of thing as a benefit for all signing with the team, the cost could be seen that way. But this is "after the fact", and I'm sure it's not mandatory that a player has to provide a family member for transport to Tampa.
Either way, it's just stupid to make an issue out of something like this.

a good point. it wasn't a signing bonus, it was just a spontaneous thoughtful gesture to allow the families to be together over the holidays.
