That is:
since we do not (cannot) see the bottom 20 floors collapse, just the dissappearance of the top of WTC 7, their timing is off by 20 floors.

I covered the demolition of 17 buildings as a beat reporter. Buildings much shorter than WTC 7 took much longer to collapse than what most of the WTC 7 films show, each of them having been wired corner to corner for controlled demolition.

Another question: in each of the demolitions I witnessed, there was a buffer/safety zone established which was wide enough it required the use of my 300mm or 400mm prime lenses (sometimes both.)
You had to start shooting the instant the squibs went off or you'd miss the beginning of the fall, critical when timing the total collapse.
The one thing I became familiar with was looking for the smoke from the "squibs" (interior cutting charges which go off mini-seconds before the main charges go), the squibs actually directing the fall of each section.
Usually, the interior charges go off first, long mili-seconds before the building begins its collapse.

I do not recall engineering film ever being released to the public from WTC 7, and for good reason: none was made, which is an oddity in that these guys like to look at their work meaning each (every) conntrolled demolition is recorded on tape/film/disk by the contracting firm for its records, "controlled demolition" the operative phrase.
Most the videos don't even count from the actual start of the collapse, only like to start the time from the the moment (even a few seconds after) the main building starts. Even then, some videos only show 20 floors(video 3) and even this takes 5 seconds for 20 floors. The 4th video at the start of this thread, a video WR uses to make the 6.5 second claim, actually times the entire collapse from when the mechanical penthouses start to fall in. The timer runs for 16 seconds. I can no longer see the building in the dust after 13+ seconds. At any rate, 6.5 is a ridiculous claim... which is no surprise considering the source of the claim.

The CT "squibs" only happen after the building starts to collapse. Also, they happen on only one side of the building. In addition, on the floors they do happen at, none actually collapse...they just ride along like every other floor all the way down.

Then there is the never answered logistic problem of the 1000's of man hours in pre-demo work in which buildings are weakened to just enough so the minimum amount of explosives can be used. Not to mention the miles of detcord and 100's of charges being placed in all the key structural members. Then there is the miraculous event that all these placed charges some how survived intact with the tons of debris crashing onto the building and the many fires lasting most the day.
If this wasn't enough, no blast seismic "spike" activity was recorded when the building collapsed. In fact, just the opposite was recorded...a gradually increasing collapse.
