I could not resist but highlight our fun with these Christians in Virginia court. They fixate on one "sin" and then slam the "sinner" regardless of the sins that they themselves commit. Because my girlfriend committed adultery after she separated, the church attorney repeated in court that she was a sinner. The attorney ignored the adultery of the husband during the marriage, abuse and other un-Christian behavior of his client. He was a very good attorney.

What stood out in our experience was the lengths that they are willing to go. A real estate agent was upset at being slandered in court so he looked into my girlfriends attorney and informed us that he was running for political office. I dismissed it at the time, figuring that the attorney's failures was because he was "distracted", I did not know the depth of religious / political affiliations of the husbands attorney till much later.

Everyone keeps telling us that we must be punished for our sins, I will keep highlighting the Puritan initiatives that we experienced. As the Virginia State Bar tells us, repeatedly it is good "strategy".

Now, when your weapons are dulled, your ardor damped, your strength exhausted and your treasure spent, other chieftains will spring up to take advantage of your extremity. Then no man, however wise, will be able to avert the consequences that must ensue.
