TACOMA, Wash. – Rescuers responded to a report of a man and two dogs that slipped down a cliffside in Point Defiance Park Wednesday afternoon.
Officials say the man was walking with his dogs on Five Mile Drive when one dog went over the edge and couldn't get back up. The man slid down trying to go after the dog.
He and the first dog were spotted on safe ground about 50 feet above the beach, and a spokesperson from Tacoma Fire says he wasn't injured.
But the second dog, which looked like a Golden Retriever, was stuck on a ledge.
SkyKING video showed a rescuer lowering himself down the ledge with a rope, and helping guide the dog to safe ground.
The group was reunited.

The Clock of life is wound but once,
And no man has the power,
To tell just when the hands will stop
On what day or what hour.
Now is the only time we have,
So live it with a will,
Don't wait until tomorrow,
The hands may then be still.
