Althgouh, I highly doubt the status of Muhammad within Islam contributed to militarism in any way. The brutality of the crusades and colonialism did that.

True about the Crusades and all. But they are REALLY touchy about the Prophet. Remember those pictures published of him in (i forget what) Newspaper. Made all hell break loose.
I was thinking about the (mostly christian) militias out there in the woods, training military style, to take America back and turn it strictly christian and white only. I saw a show about them on the History Channel. Kinda scared me. Alot.
