If we're talking scores rather then soundtracks (songs in the background ala American Graffiti) or musical scores which don't count because the music is usually already wildly popular or great that's why they're doing a movie with it or about it, (ala West Side Story ,or Hello Dolly, Grease ie).
But strictly scores:
Maurice Jarre Doctor Zhiviago
Ernest Gold: Exodus
Both not the movies but the best sound quality I could find.
I'm really partial to this next one, it's hypnotic.
John Williams has many films he's done scores for , many recognizable that we all know StarWars and Close Encounters to name two. But this could be his crowning achievement.
