9 years in the inground pool biz and I can tell you that it might come back. Dry it as quickly as possible or let it sit for days near a heat source (dashboard with the heat on when I could bare it. worked once for me).

It's not over yet. But if it is dead, returning it or using insurance on it might be impossible .

NEXTELL even before the water damage indicators, could tell the way things "rusted" that the phone was submerged. Believe me I did try and return them. Once, and only once. When they shot us down, we just didn't try it again.

After that when one did take the plunge and didn't come back, I simply transferred the simcard into another phone and wrote down all the contacts (royal pain in the ass). Then told NEXTELL it was stolen or lost. It would be highly suspicious to claim a phone was stolen or lost but that the simcard wasn't in it at the time.

If it doesn't come back, don't take it anywhere, read your contract and insurance carefully , lost or stolen might be covered but not submerged.

We used to give em to the "kids" of employees to play with. Some of them still chirped and made noises too.

Found 4, one is my present phone. One has a sweet BodyGLOVE skin made of neoprene that cost nearly as much as the phone. But I've upgraded since then. Damn I forgot how much I liked that skin.
