Collective punishment is wrong!
I am not entirely sure what this is suppose to mean. Since, in essence, all punishment is collective. The only point of punishing anyone, for anything, is to set an example for others to not do the same thing. Thus punishment is by design, a ‘deterrent by example’!
Back in the good old days. If someone broke a law, they were beheaded, and their head was posted on the city gate. Providing the clear message to everyone entering the city . . . This is what we will do to you, if you break any of our laws!!!
With some countries still recognizing the need to hold people accountable for their actions, and other countries that choose to believe that the concepts of responsibility, and accountability should no longer be expected. The UN now has the problem of having to deal with these clashing cultures. Until such a time as the UN finally takes a stand on this issue, one way or the other, the UN is going to continue to have to deal with the problems that they are creating.
(well I could agree in part but your point & example would seem to apply to only some... That is we>usa & or Israel doing the example making....... If you have the balls to apply the same criteria to those two then please do so or state how they alone are exempt)
It is universally excepted that in order for any law to be just, it must apply to everyone equally. When a governing body decides to start arbitrarily exempting people from any law, that law is no longer considered to be just. Thus enforcing the unjust law, becomes nearly impossible.
(lol. see above & please feel free to have a couple examples)
I admit that I am very confused by your whining.
With the one single exception of the continued existence of The State of Israel, Gazans now have everything else that they have been demanding.
(not sure I recall them demanding a prison where their very lives are controlled by another country. Power. food etc. It is merely a sealed prison.... THey control almost nothing...) They wanted their own land, and now they have it. They wanted the own government, and now they have it. They wanted their independence, and now they have it! The fact that they are unable to support themselves, is entirely their problem.
(LOL....... How can they support themselves??? I wonder how any of them even live...... No jobs. All land,. sea & air routes are blocked by other countires.. Expalaim me that kinda freedumb my bush..... You put a bird in a small cage & ask "why does it not fly.......
..)
When the Israelis pulled out of Gaza, they left behind everything that the Gazan’s would need to properly support themselves, including tens of billions of dollars worth of the most technically advanced hydroponic greenhouses on the planet. With those greenhouses the Gazans could raise all of the food that they could possibly eat. But instead of feeding themselves, the Gazans choose to destroy those greenhouses. How is this Israel’s fault?
(did the Gazians destroy the power plant?? Did the Gazains seal the boarder.......?? Start there)
What business is it of the UN to reward these people for being stupid? They wanted their independence, and now they have it! To bad!!! What have they done with it? They have chosen to turn themselves into a ‘terrorist state’.
(they have chosen......... When did they all vote on turning it into a terrorist state.... Please remeind me when the ppl there voted this????)
Hamas is an internationally recognized terrorist organization. Now that they have become the government of Gaza, they continue to refuse to renounce terrorism! They continue to launch terrorists attacks against Israel! They have made Gaza into a ‘terrorist state’! (By any definition of the term.) By their own choice.
(why not state your definition of that term. & I will show you how it applies universally......
)
All of the laws (international, and otherwise) concerning states that sponsor, and/or otherwise support terrorism, are very clear on the matter.
(except that it does not apply to the usa or it's clients...) These very same laws are also very clear on the punishments that can be imposed on any nation that supports any ‘terrorist state’ including Gaza.
Now the UN wants everyone to ignore all of these laws, and to add insult to injury, are blaming the Israelis for being the victims. As though that were not enough, the UN wants to compel the Israelis to support a ‘terrorist state’ that is determined to destroy Israel.
All the while, Israel wants nothing to do with any of it anymore. As far as they are concerned, if the UN wants to support the terrorist state of Gaza, they can do it through Egypt now. Let the Egyptian government get sued for supporting a terrorist state. After all, supporting terrorism is only going to cost the Libyan government one hundred and ninety billion dollars ($190,000,000,000)!
I wonder how much Haliburton would be willing to pay for the Suez Canal???
