I finally got to see a proper copy of Pirates 3 a day or two ago. Shocking I know, such is my love for the series. But I missed out on seeing it in the cinema and only got to see a dingy looking copy of the film up until very recently when I preordered the DVD and got it 2 days before it was due to hit stores. Yay for me!.

I just recently saw Bug by William Friedkin and was surprised by how good it was. It's a psychological thriller, in the truest sense of the word. I'd expected it to be about people fighting a bunch of CGI insects, but I couldn't have been more wrong. It's intense and very unusual.

I just saw the remake of Funny Games with Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, Michael Pitt, and Brady Corbet. It was the same film as the 1998 austrian version same shots, same director, same art design. The only difference was that it starred english speaking actors. Naomi Watts and Brady Corbet's performances are as good and on Watt's case even better than the actors who originated the roles. Michael Pitt, and Tim Roth are good but they can't hold a candle to Arno Frisch, and Ulrich Muhe of the 1997 version. Michael Haneke, the writer and director of the original directed the remake, and Naomi Watts is one of the film's producers. Funny Games (US 2007) Funny Games (Austria 1998) |

The screenplay was adapted from a stage play, by the way. Well worth the time to see this!!!

...last night (after the WONDERFUL football game) - watched "The Greatest Game Ever Played". Shia Labeof was pretty good in a feelgood underdog story. I thought the little boy who played his caddy was the films high point. Maybe not on the level of the highest of sports movies, but worth a look.

Wait! 1408 adds up to 13! That's scary. I thought it was pretty good mainly because John Cusack is in it.

No when he added it up on paper in real big letters I thought it meant something else.

i rented "the darwin awards" last weekend... and really liked it.
joseph fiennes played a real quirky character that i enjoyed a lot, and winona ryder was actually good in it, too, so it was a pleasant surprise. i want to go see no country for old men, soon, if i can. it looks fantastic from what i've seen in the previews.
